The Goss aquatic weed control specialists have a high level of expertise in the identification, control, removal and disposal of weed infestation of rivers, lakes, canals and reservoirs.
Unchecked weed growth is not only unattractive to look at but can restrict water flow, foul propellers, affect recreational activity, diminish fish stocks and reduce income.
These weeds may not be native to the region and can harm the environment by choking out native water plants, fish and other beneficial aquatic organisms.
The Goss service is based first on identification of the target plants and then ensuring their removal by the most appropriate methods.
Options could be mechanical, chemical, biological or a combination to achieve the results required.
In all circumstances it is important to select the correct method of control. For some weed species, for example, mechanical removal through cutting could actually make the problem worse as it may encourage the plants to send-out new growth. Whatever method is adopted, Goss will undertake the task in a responsible and environmentally aware manner.
We work with government agencies to obtain the required permits and to ensure compliance with local and national regulations and follow best management practices Weed control on banks and surrounding areas Goss weed control specialists will, if required, carry out treatments to areas adjacent to the water body being treated.
Due to the sensitive nature of this area of our work, we only employ skilled and trained personnel, all of whom must have the appropriate Certificate of Competence.
