Seasonal Planner - Winter

January – March

Record Keeping
It is important to ensure all pesticide treatments
are logged. Goss will obtain the required Material
Safety Sheets and their operators will ensure full
compliance with the regulations

Moss Prevention
Now is the ideal time to kill over-wintering spores
on grass and hard surfaces. Applications now will prevent
further spread in the spring

Total Weed Control
Applying residual herbicides to hard surfaces, fence lines, shrub beds etc will kill germinating
weeds. If the season is early and growth has started, a contact herbicide may be considered

Fertiliser Application
In late March, depending on soil temperatures, a spring fertiliser application will assist winter recovery. Iron applications will boost early colour.

Invasive Weed Control
Spraying Giant hogweed should begin in March when the stems are approx. 1 metre in height. Applications should continue throughout the summer.

Pest & Disease Control
Early identification of pest and disease is essential. Preventation is always better than having to control nn existing infection or pest attack.
